How to maintain the air compressor cooler?

The cooler is one of the important accessories of the air compressor. The cooler needs to be cleaned regularly according to different environmental conditions so that the air compressor can run smoothly at normal temperatures. Once the cooler is clogged and unable to work properly, the compressor exhaust temperature will rise, seriously affecting the quality and efficiency of the compressed air and shortening the service life of the machine. Generally speaking, the outside of air-cooled coolers should be cleaned every 1500 hours; the water side of water-cooled coolers should be cleaned every 1500 hours. Moreover, the cleaning steps of air-cooled coolers and water-cooled coolers are also different. Let’s take a brief look at them below.

- Air-cooled cooler
The air-cooled air compressor must first be stopped and the pressure has been released, and then pull down the main power switch to ensure safety. Open the air duct to clean the cover or remove the cooling fan. Then use compressed air to blow away the dirt. Stubborn stains that cannot be blown away should be soaked or sprayed with cleaning fluid and used with a brush. Finally, replace the cover or cooling fan.

- Water-cooled cooler
Water-cooled machines must also be stopped first, confirm that the pressure has been released, and turn off the power to ensure safety. Then disassemble the cooling water inlet and outlet pipes, inject cleaning solution into them for soaking or flush them with a pump cycle, then rinse the cleaning solution with clean water, re-inject cooling water and replace the cooling water. When the oil cooler is severely scaled and cleaning with the above method is not ideal, you can remove the oil cooler separately, open the end caps at both ends, and use a special cleaning steel brush or other tools to remove scale.

All in all, different maintenance methods must be adopted for air compressor types with different cooling methods to ensure the normal operation of the machine.
